I love to read. Unfortunately, I don’t have the time to read everything I want to read. This has been a perennial problem for me, as I continue to set goals I’m not able to fulfill. Cases in point: here and here. And here.

In my defense, I’ve only failed in terms of timeline. I still plan to read the books I’ve set out to read — with one exception (which I’ll get to in a moment). Indeed, I want to get your input on that too (but, again, we’ll get to that shortly).

It’s not that I’m lazy when it comes to reading. I read from and study the Bible all the time. I know not all of you share my faith, but hopefully reading the word “Bible” won’t give you an allergic reaction and you can keep reading :-). (I don’t mean to be unnecessarily sarcastic, but with some folks here on Medium, it sure seems to be the case. Anyway….)

I regularly read articles and essays, and consult many information sources for my work and my writing. (Oh, and I should make clear… I read a lot here on Medium *wink*).

And I’m already at 42 books read for the year — that’s 42 of my goal of 52 for 2024. That’s books I’ve read word-for-word, cover-to-cover. (I don’t count the books I only read parts of).
