Yes, Jesus Was a Real Historical Figure and He Was Crucified

You may not be religious. You may not believe in God, the Bible, or Christianity. Okay. I get it. But to deny that Jesus was a real, actual historical figure? Yeah, sorry, that’s just not a rational belief.

Not at all.

Jesus was an actual historical figure and he was indeed crucified.

Since today is Good Friday, it seems a logical day to visit this point.

The evidence for Jesus’ existence as a historical figure is overwhelming and would not be questioned by anyone with half a brain were it not for the religious implications that the name carries and the emotional baggage many people carry concerning religion.

As Bart Ehrman puts it in his book Did Jesus Exist?: The Historical Argument for Jesus of Nazareth:

“The reality is that whatever else you may think about Jesus, he certainly did exist.”
