The Internet (especially on Medium) is full of people complaining (often bitterly) about how their church is “unloving” or “hateful” or “hypocritical” or (insert whatever negative adjective). More often than not, it comes down to the church believing something that goes against the writer’s values.

Welcome to Life.

Let me introduce you to something called “Reality.” And…

Let me invite you to… how do I put this…

Grow up.

You are going to run into people and groups who don’t agree with you. That’s life. That’s reality. Get used to it. And get over it.

Besides, isn’t a church supposed to be about pleasing God instead of pleasing you?

Before the hate rolls into the comments…

Before the trolls come looking for blood…

I believe God loves everyone. I strive to love everyone, and that includes people with whom I disagree. I believe churches should be known for their love. And I’ll be the first to admit that (sadly) many are not.

Okay?
