Time to Pile Love Onto Everyone
Get your shovel out and dig deep
This election season has been tough on many, and the temptation to let anger and hate take over is strong. Indeed, multiple voices online (including here on Medium) are calling for just that. They want to shovel as much hate as possible on this group or that group — whoever they blame for their pain, hurt, or losses.
I believe we can and should do better.
Instead of piling on hate, let’s choose to pile on love.
We need to pile love onto Democrats, Republicans, Independents, conservatives, liberals, progressives, leftists, libertarians, communists, socialists, and everyone of any political stripe not mentioned. We need to pile love onto atheists, agnostics, Muslims, Jews, Christians, Buddhists, Hindus, and everyone of any faith.
We should pile the love onto those who identify as gay, trans, straight, non-binary, two-spirit, whatever.
Whoever the person is, love that person. Pile the love on that person so much that they have too much to carry and have to spread it to others!
If you believe America is a nation of hate (I don’t, but if that’s what you believe), then you of all people should be motivated to spread more love.
