This is unfortunately true. Feelings are important, but we should care more about facts. Does God exist or not? Did Jesus die on the cross and then rise from the dead - or not? Can the Bible be described (accurately) as a written record of God's revelation to humanity -- or is it just a book written by men (and nothing more)? These are the questions that matter most. These are the questions people SHOULD be confronting, but.... Few confront those questions. Why? Because, as you point out, people are primarily emotion-driven and care more about their feelings. It shouldn't be that way, but it is. :-(
