Okay, so come to find out that this week (June 9–15, 2024) is National Pet Wedding Week.

Yeah, it’s apparently a thing.

Maybe you’re as surprised about this as I am. Or maybe you know all about it and think it’s great. If you’re in that latter camp, I got questions…

  • Do the guests bring chew toys and catnip as gifts?
  • If it’s a dog wedding, does one bark or two count as “I do”?
  • Are there bachelor and bachelorette parties?
  • Instead of a bouquet toss, do they just play fetch?
  • Do they have to sign the wedding license or just do a paw print?
  • Do they exchange collars instead of rings?
  • Are there pet divorce lawyers?

Inquiring minds want to know.
