"The one place that you are completely wrong, and what creates all the problems with religion these days is believing the Bible is the inerent word of God."

All the problems with religion? All the problems with religion are created because many people like me affirm biblical inerrancy?

"There is not only no evidence for it, there is abundant evidence that this is a fiction."

I obviously disagree.

"To call contemporary men ignorant in the same way that ancient people were is a false equivalency."

I didn't say we were "ignorant in the same way" as ancient people. I'm simply making the point that all human beings are ignorant. That includes us.

Yes, we've gained a lot of knowledge and awareness over the course of history. Overall. It's ebbed and flowed. But overall...we've made progress in many ways. Still...

This doesn't mean that ancient people have nothing to teach us. You're not necessarily saying that. But I feel this point needs to be made. Ancient people have sometimes put forward principles and insights that have stood the test of time.

And sometimes, ancient people are right and modern people are wrong.

"You are free to hold whatever belief you want."

Thank you. :-) Likewise.

"What you’re not free to do is to push back against those who disagree with you..."

You mean like you're pushing back against me? Why is it okay for you to push back but not me?
