“That is Not Acceptable, and It’s Not a Matter of Opinion or Reasonable Debate”

Too many activists embrace views that will lead to tyranny

In a recent discussion here on Medium, I was told that “fundamentalists” (particularly those of the Christian variety) are essentially not welcome in the public square unless they set aside their beliefs.

This person essentially considers any Bible-believing Christian to be a “fundamentalist.”

If this person were on the fringe, I would ignore the comment and move on. But sadly, many critics of Christianity (or critics of people of faith in general) share this unfortunate perspective.

I say “unfortunate” because it’s a perspective that leads to the very “control” they claim to be against!

Get into enough political and religious conversations these days (in person or online) and you’re bound to run into people who believe that religion should be relegated to the sidelines — if even allowed in the stadium.

They hold this view oblivious to the fact that their opposition to religion itself takes on a religious character.
