Thanks for sharing this. As a pastor myself, I can relate to MUCH of what you've written.

If it's any consolation, when I read James's epistle, it sounds like he saw some of the same nonsense in his day.

"For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there." (James 3:16)

It's sad that "envy and self-seeking" characterize so many churches today. :-( Truly sad.
