Personally, I get more out of the Bible when I go through it slowly. Like I said, I usually study my way through -- and go deeper on certain books or sections.

This time, I just wanted to change it up a little bit. I wanted to encourage those in the church I serve and my friends that it can be done. That the Bible isn't this big, intimidating hill you can never climb. I know too many people who have never read it. So... I did this to encourage people mainly.

For myself, it was just a fresh approach.

But I'm probably not going to read it that quickly again.

One other point....

I know a lot of people who follow organized reading plans. And that's great. But for me, I've found I start to get stressed or discouraged if I fall behind. So I just read what I could, when I could. And I found that, on some days, I could finish multiple books that day. I was on a roll. And then other days, I took my time.

For example....Took me 4 days to get through Jeremiah but also 4 days to get through the entire New Testament.

So this was an informal, quick read-through. But now, I'm going to go back to my standard study-my-way-through approach. :-)
