Whether the topic is “identity,” “body positivity,” “self-esteem,” “equity,” “dating,” or fill-in-the-blank, there is a growing and increasingly passionate mentality at play that essentially goes like this…

I am what I say I am. I deserve what I want out of life. And no one better disagree with me or get in my way!

Our society’s desire for greater inclusion, more self-esteem, and civil rights for all has, in some ways, morphed into an incoherent, narcissistic nightmare of entitlement and self-aggrandizement.

Relationships and families are in disarray. Politics has gotten downright insane. Debates over history are often nonsensical. Education is in need of more reform than perhaps ever before. And the problems keep piling on.

It’s fast getting to the point now that employers can’t set standards for employment without getting accused of “ableism” and individuals can’t set their own standards for dating and relationships without being called hateful, intolerant, or worse.

And let’s not even get started on religion. Somehow, there’s this ridiculous expectation settling in that all religions must accept every conceivable belief…
