I’ve Read 8 Books in 3 Weeks

And I’m just getting started!

Have you started your reading goals for 2024? You do have reading goals, right?

If not, then (as soon as you’re done with this article), you need to set some. You need to decide what books you want to read for 2024.

Don’t think you have time to read? Well, that’s why I wrote this article. I want to encourage you.

I’m a husband, father (granted, my kids are grown — but I’m still involved in their lives), pastor (that’s more than 40 hours a week if you don’t know), brother/cousin/nephew/uncle/friend/etc. (and my family and friends like me to chat with me sometimes), homeowner (with all the responsibilities that entails), part-time writer, and reader.

With everything going on in my life, it’s hard sometimes to carve out time for the latter two items. Some days, it’s almost impossible. But…

I make it a priority.

When I have downtime, I choose to read over watching TV. I would rather read than aimlessly scroll social media on my phone. And when I’m waiting around with not much to do (like, say, at the doctor’s or dentist's office), I have my phone or iPad handy — with my Kindle app loaded up with lots of books.
