Is Hypnosis a Sin?

Short Answer: Not Necessarily. Longer Answer: Read On!

Many believers in Christ firmly answer “No” to the question of whether hypnosis is acceptable. While I respect any person’s choice to steer clear of hypnosis, I take a more open view that I believe is more biblically grounded than the knee-jerk negative reaction often seen in many Christian circles.

My contention is the following…

Hypnosis is a beneficial tool with risks. It requires caution but does not warrant knee-jerk or automatic rejection.

It should be noted, from the outset, that this article is written for those who, like me, identify as Christian and respect the Bible as Scripture. Others reading this may not understand what the “fuss” is all about.
