If You Only Love People Who Agree With You, You Don’t Know Love
Most people these days don’t
If you only love people who think like you, talk like you, and act like you, then you don’t understand love.
If you equate love simply with emotion, you don’t understand love.
One of the worst things that’s happened this century is that most people now reduce love to emotion and equate love with agreement and approval.
And they do so openly and shamelessly.
Not surprisingly, we now live in a world where more and more people despise people who think, talk, or act differently than they do. And where people automatically equate disagreement or disapproval with hate.
The sad truth is that we are a society losing its grip on love. We no longer understand it, nor do most people care to do so.
Please note that I’m not just talking about romantic love. That’s just one form of love. Love manifests in different forms, but…
At the heart of each form is something central.
Something that is increasingly missing these days.
And if it’s missing from your heart or perspective, then you really don’t “get” or practice love in the truest sense.
