If you are among those cheering for, celebrating, affirming, or defending the murder of political activist Charlie Kirk, you are evil. Or you’re at least complicit with evil.

And please don’t come swooping into the comments and start squawking about Charlie Kirk’s political views or outspokenness or any of that nonsense. As if it’s justified for a controversial voice to be violently silenced. Shame on you if that’s how you feel.

I shouldn’t have to say this, but I will, and that’s…

I disagreed with many things Charlie Kirk said. But that is irrelevant.

It’s okay to disagree. It’s okay to disagree strongly. And it’s okay to express your disagreements with people, especially prominent figures like Charlie Kirk.

It’s not okay to hate people and celebrate their death.

It’s not okay to call murder “justice” (as some have done, including on this very platform).

It’s not okay to ignore their humanity.

It’s not okay to dismiss or devalue the grief of their family (in Charlie Kirk’s case, a young wife and two little children).

Let me say it plainly…

I don’t give a flying flip what your political views are. But…

If you celebrate murder, you are an enemy of decency and civilization.

And yet, even for you, I still want life — not death. That’s the difference between us.

Thank you for reading!
