Yesterday, I wrote about remarks that former President Barack Obama made in 2019 concerning call-out culture and excessive judgmentalism in 21st-century America. Today, I want to focus on the last line from the video segment I posted.

“If all you’re doing is casting stones, you’re probably not going to get that far.” -Barack Obama

This is a profound quote. It’s the kind of wisdom that I wish every person in America would hear and incorporate into their life — no matter their age, gender, race, religion, income level, whatever.

If all you do is throw stones at people, you will not get that far in making progress, bringing about change, or having any kind of a quality life.

A possible exception to this would be if you’re a writer on Medium trying to get lots of views.

Of course, it’s not just Medium. If your financial or career success rests on getting lots of clicks, reads, or views, then throwing stones at people (proverbially speaking) is indeed the ticket to $$$ and influence.
