I hear you, but (as, I'm sure you know), the Christian view is that everyone -- homosexual, heterosexual, trans, Republican, Democrat, liberal, conservative, whatever -- is a sinner. And I grew up hearing the saying and it was (in my youth) rarely applied to LGBTQ+ situations. It's an old saying.
