I don't understand why people can't get this.

So the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), at far greater risk to themselves, is conducting targeted attacks to minimize civilian casualties. If they didn’t care about civilian casualties they could have carpet-bombed Gaza into oblivion and the war would already be over.
