The above article explains it better than I can. My point isn't really to be obnoxious. In looking back at my question, I see it may have come off that way. Sorry :-) . I'm just pointing out that renaming BC/AD to BCE/CE is a shallow way to be PC. We're still dealing with a calendar system that is Christian in origin. If we really want to strike a blow for PC, we should reorient the entire calendar to a new system entirely. I'm not advocating for that, of course.
