Hi Peter,
Okay, skipping over the personal insult to engage your points...
I am not a Trump fan and I know MANY evangelicals who likewise aren't Trump fans and didn't vote for Trump either time he ran.
As a Christian, my allegiance isn't to Trump -- or any other celebrity or political figure.
I desire to lift up the Name of Jesus.
And many, MANY evangelicals think as I do.
We just don't get the attention or the press. The media chooses to focus on the more political voices and often most problematic voices within evangelical circles. Just as...
The media does with pretty much any movement, because...
It's all about clicks and ratings.
The media no longer really cares about the truth. Media organizations care about appealing to and pleasing their customer base.
The same is often true with Medium writers.
And the point I'm making in the article (and in the comments) is...
It's NOT wrong to criticize Christians or hold them accountable just as it's not wrong or improper to do that with ANY person, tribe, or group. But...
Hate is NOT helpful. It's not constructive.
And what I'm seeing more and more from writers on Medium (and many in society overall) is hate.
If you think that is a "tone deaf" point, well...
I don't know what more I can say.
I sincerely wish you nothing but the very best.
I wish everyone felt that way about everybody -- in spite of disagreements.
Blessings!
