Yes, Christians believe the conception of Jesus was a supernatural act of God. No, there was no human sperm involved.
The details of how God brought about a full set of chromosomes aren't explained in Scripture — just as the Bible doesn’t get into molecular biology on how Jesus healed a blind man or walked on water.
Miracles, by definition, transcend natural processes.
And just because the details of said miracles are not explained to the satisfaction of skeptics doesn't mean the miracles are untrue.
As for Jesus not emphasizing the virgin birth...
It’s mentioned in two of the four Gospels (Matthew and Luke), both of which were written based on eyewitness testimony and early apostolic teaching.
Jesus didn’t go around telling people how He was born — just like you and I don’t usually open conversations with our birth stories.
He pointed people to His identity, His mission, and ultimately, His resurrection.
