Hi! First, thanks for commenting and giving me the opportunity to reiterate something.
You write: "...and you still think you're the only one knowledgeable enough..."
Correction: I never said I was the "only one knowledgeable enough" to say anything. My writing an article isn't intended to imply that I'm exclusively knowledgeable on the topic matter. Far from it. I'm only saying I have enough knowledge to write the article. I'm quite confident that many readers have more knowledge than me. And that's a great thing. I welcome them to this discussion.
You: "...to pretend oppression and hate doesn't exist in Christianity..."
Did you not read my article? Please allow me to repeat the following. Perhaps you missed this.
"Don’t get me wrong. I’m well aware that the world of Christianity is full of sin, strife, and scandal. I know many people have been tragically and inexcusably scarred by churches, faith-based organizations, and everyday people who profess to believe in and follow Christ."
You: "....and gaslight all those who have been hurt"
Once again, I invite you (and anyone else who may have the same reaction) to re-read my article. Hopefully, you (and they) will notice this:
"Those who abuse, mistreat, exploit, and violate others should be called out and held accountable. I want there to be no misunderstanding on that point."
Not only do I acknowledge and validate the experiences of those who have been hurt, I welcome them to come forward and tell their stories. Anyone who abuses, mistreats, exploits, and violates another should be held accountable.
I wish you all the best!
