"For every pastor quitting, hundreds are leaving the church because of abuse of power, sex, and money that has corrupted the church."
This is a scathing accusation. And if true, it's breathtakingly tragic. Do we have evidence to back this up?
I know that many pastors are indeed leaving "because of abuse of power, sex, and money that has corrupted the church." I don't dispute that. And those pastors need to be held accountable by their congregations and (if laws are broken) to the full extent of the law.
But to say that there "hundreds" of such pastor for every ONE pastor that voluntarily quits due to burnout... wow, that's quite a statement.
