Focus on Gratitude This Thanksgiving
Today is a reminder to be grateful
Happy Thanksgiving!
Today is a reminder to focus on the good in your life — and the good in the people and circumstances of your life.
What if you don’t feel there’s enough good to be thankful for?
Well, here’s the thing. If you’re honest with yourself (and most people aren’t), what we really want is happiness. And people can be happy even when circumstances and events don’t cooperate with their wishes.
What’s more, gratitude actually increases our happiness. So…if you want to be happy in your life, being grateful is a great start.
And Thanksgiving Day is a reminder of the importance of gratitude.
Take time today to list out all the good things in your life — all of them. And be detailed. For example, I am thankful that:
- God loves me
- I’ve been married to my best friend for 30 years
- I have two wonderful children — now grown adults
- I have wonderful friends
- I live in a great country
- I can think
- I can communicate
- I can walk
- I can see
