Don’t Be Too Quick to Deconstruct

Too much deconstruction leads to destruction and ruin

You’re a Bible-believing Christian, you say? Pfft. You ignorant, unenlightened Neanderthal! That’s only because you were born in a traditional, patriarchal, western culture. Had you been born in India or China, you wouldn’t be.

It’s time to deconstruct your faith.

Ah, yes! Faith deconstructionism. It’s all the rage these days — especially on TikTok and here on Medium.

When it comes to religion, deconstructionism is in. Standing by time-honored narratives is out.

In the age of information, it’s no wonder that people are increasingly questioning the narratives they’ve been told. With so much access to information, it’s easier than ever to see the cracks in the foundation of our preconceived notions and assumptions.

This is especially true for young people, who are more likely to be exposed to a variety of worldviews and perspectives than previous generations. As a result, many young people are choosing to deconstruct their faith or to critically examine the beliefs they’ve been taught.

You can see plenty of examples of this on TikTok and, as mentioned previously, here on Medium.
