Disingenous suggests I'm somehow being insincere or being deceptive. That's an accusation that's neither fair nor accurate.

I may not have responded to your article in a manner that is satisfactory to you. Okay. You're welcome to say that. And you have. But please don't accuse me of being insincere or deceptive.

Now, in this article, I did write this...

"As for the charge that Jesus should have given humanity a crash course in medical science…

"Jesus lived in a pre-modern world. Expecting Jesus to deliver a TED Talk on microbiology in first-century Judea is absurd! That’s not how revelation works. Jesus came to reveal God! (I would argue…to reveal Himself as God). In doing so, he spoke within his historical and cultural context — just as every prophet, philosopher, and teacher has always done."

That was my response initially to your point(s) about God withholding information on hygiene and health. I since (at your prompting) followed up (as you know) with another article that went into this more in depth.

And your tone in responding to that was much more respectful and gracious than is the case here.

So.... let's just agree to disagree, okay?

I wish you the best.
