A Bible Proverb Donald Trump Should Read — And Heed
“He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty…” -Proverbs 16:32a
The world was greeted today with the news of an angry Donald Trump ordering the leader of an allied nation (well, “ally” may not be an accurate term with this administration) out of the White House.
CNN described the meeting as a “remarkable shouting match.” Indeed, it was an unprecedented display of undisciplined anger and a breach of traditionally expected decorum.
If you’re a supporter of Vladimir Putin and his invasion of Ukraine, you are undoubtedly overjoyed at the sight of an American president publicly humiliating the leader of Ukraine. If you are a supporter of Putin, you and I have little in common.
It’s logically irrefutable that Putin was and is the aggressor, and Ukraine (while not a perfect nation) is the victim.
Yes, I recognize that it’s highly unlikely that Ukraine can ever truly win this war. Even with continued and significant financial support from its European allies and the United States — support that has allowed it to survive to this point — Ukraine’s best hope is a war of attrition that Russia will ultimately tire of. That’s not a great strategy.
